  • HiLux GR Sport to be displayed at TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Garage fan activation site alongside other GR performance cars
  • Due to go on sale in second half of 2023

The HiLux GR Sport will be on display at the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Garage – a fan activation site situated behind the main straight offering a close look at some of Toyota’s most exciting GR performance cars.

Designed to replicate a real racing workshop, the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Garage will also be displaying the new GR Corolla hot hatch, GR86 race car and the GR Yaris AP4 that will be campaigned by the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Australia (TGRA) Rally Team in the upcoming 2023 Australian Rally Championship (ARC) season.

The TGRA Rally Team will be looking to defend its title in 2023 after drivers Lewis Bates and Anthony McLoughlin won the 2022 ARC Driver’s and Co-Driver’s Championship, with Toyota also clinching the manufacturers’ title.

The TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Garage will be open on each event day from March 30 – April 2, and members of the TGRA motorsport team will be on hand at various points over the weekend to chat to fans and showcase the two race cars.

A broad range of information about the on-site vehicles will be available at the garage, with product experts on hand to answer questions.

Dakar-inspired HiLux GR Sport

The Dakar-inspired HiLux GR Sport is set to arrive in Australia in the second half of 2023 as the newest member of the GR family, sporting a range of upgrades to enhance performance both on- and off-road.

It offers unique upgraded suspension with dedicated monotube shock absorbers, stiffer coil springs, improved steering response and wider tracks, extended by 140mm front and 155mm rear.1

A unique grille, overfenders, rock rails, skid plate, recovery points, red brake callipers and 17-inch alloy wheels clearly set the HiLux GR Sport apart, with the enhancements continuing inside with sports pedals, red seatbelts and GR logos.1

An extra 10 per cent of power and torque has been extracted from the HiLux’s 2.8-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine, pushing outputs to 165kW/550Nm – making it the most powerful diesel HiLux offered to date.1

Further details on the HiLux GR Sport including local pricing and launch timing will be communicated closer to the vehicle’s arrival in Australia.

The 2023 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix begins on March 30 and culminates with race day on Sunday April 2.
