Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has announced a raft of changes, including two new model variants, with the market introduction of its model year 2015 (MY15) Amarok range. Along with the new TDI420 Dual Cab 4×2 Automatic and TDI420 Single Cab 4MOTION Automatic models, the MY15 Amarok line-up boasts enhanced specification across the newly revised and expanded model line-up, including new highlight features such as Bi-Xenon headlights with LED daytime driving lights, standard with the Amarok Ultimate specification.
New Amarok variants
The TDI420 Dual Cab 4×2 Automatic
Utilising the Amarok’s potent 420Nm TDI diesel power plant with an efficient 8-speed automatic, the Amarok Dual Cab is now available in 4×2 configuration. Aimed at customers who require a robust pick-up with no need for offroad-use, the TDI420 Dual Cab 4×2 Automatic variant continues to offer all the hallmarks of the Amarok range: impressive fuel economy, versatility and car-like on-road manners. The newly added Amarok variant also receives cruise control and Bluetooth connectivity, a multifunction steering wheel and a body coloured bumper as standard.
TDI420 Single Cab 4MOTION Automatic
The Amarok Single Cab is now also available with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a 420TDI diesel engine, while utilising Volkswagen’s 4MOTION permanent four-wheel-drive system. Standard features in the TDI420 Single Cab 4MOTION Automatic include cruise control and Bluetooth connectivity, a multifunction steering wheel and a body coloured front bumper. The Amarok TDI420 Single Cab 4MOTION is available in both cab chassis and ute body configurations.

All models within the Amarok MY15 range receive a number of updates in terms of equipment and features.
Amarok Core Edition
The MY15 Dual Cab Amarok entry model, now named Amarok “Core Edition”, continues to be available in both TDI400 and TDI420 engine specifications with 4MOTION and with manual or automatic transmissions. MY15 Updated Amarok Core Edition models also feature body-coloured bumpers, 16-inch ‘Korama’ alloy wheels and Pirelli Scorpion ATR tyres as standard.
Amarok Trendline
All MY15 Trendline vehicles now include standard front and rear Park Distance Control and 17-inch alloy wheels. Customers also get a choice of three new options to further enhance their Trendline Amaroks: RNS315 satellite navigation, rear view camera, and lumbar support for the driver and front passenger seats.
Amarok Highline
Already benefiting from the existing and new features of the Core and Trendline models, the MY15 Highline specification has also been increased, with standard rear view camera, Light and Sight (rain sensor wipers and automatic headlamps), and lumbar support for driver and passenger seats. Customers can further customise their Amarok Highline with optional Bi-Xenon headlights.
Amarok Ultimate
The pinnacle of the mainstream Amarok range, the Ultimate model receives the comfort and convenience systems of previous specification lines, including leather interior trim and 19-inch alloy wheels, as additional standard features. Further benefiting from the MY15 update, Amarok Ultimate models now also receive Bi-Xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights.
